I got a parking ticket

——entrapment law enforcement

Just yesterday morning I got a parking ticket.

This is what happened. As usual, at 6:32am, I parked the car on the roadside of St Clarens Ave near the Lansdowne construction site. Since it was still early, I sat in the car looking at my phone, and occasionally construction workers walked past my car. After a while, I saw a parking enforcement vehicle coming towards me. I was wondering, did he come to issue a fine so early? From the reflector, I saw him turn the car around and park the car right in the middle of the road with the headlights on. He didn’t get out of the car. I didn’t know what he was doing. After a few minutes, I got out of the car and went to the construction site. Before leaving, I looked back specifically and saw that the car was still parked there with its headlights on. I’m still wondering, what is he waiting for?

Everything was normal that day. After getting off work in the afternoon, when I was walking on the road, I thought about what happened in the morning again and thought, don’t give me a ticket. When I turned the corner, I looked up and suddenly saw a yellow note lying on the windshield of the car. No need to ask, it must be a parking ticket! The more you fear something, the more it will come to you. I was very confused at that time, why is it so difficult to park downtown! No matter where I parked, I was always nervous because I was afraid of seeing the yellow ticket on the windshield. After paying the fine, half a day’s work for free. I also know there must be a reason for the fine. Even if you go to court, your chances of winning are slim and your lost wages will be well over $50. The government is stealing money. The usual frugality was robbed by the government and ultimately squandered and abused by these politicians. The government’s capabilities are spent on how to deal with kind and law-abiding citizens, but it is unable to deal with the increasingly serious and diverse car thieves, let alone deal with drug addicts wandering the streets. The government has no majesty at all. How sad! But my arms couldn’t twist my thighs, so I thought I was out of luck and had to give up.

Sitting in the car, I suddenly discovered that that morning, he was already waiting for me in the car, with the car lights still on. A real-life version of “entrapment law enforcement.” Thinking of this, I no longer feel calm. If his actions represent the government, it only means that the government only cares about money💰 and does not care about anything else. According to formal convention, should people be reminded not to make mistakes, or should people be reminded to make fewer mistakes. Is there any reason to think you would make a mistake and be warned without warning, just to get a fine? It’s like he dug a trap, watched you jump in from a distance, and then came to collect the body. Is the government that does this the government we elected to serve us? We should build a harmonious and safe society, not a society of intrigue. Today I encountered this. If I were left alone and did nothing, there would be another, and another, and so on, forever.

Should I do something to change the situation? If you take a closer look at the yellow ticket, there are only two options: pay or dispute. There is no option to go to court and have a judge decide. I want to clarify a question now: “When you saw him breaking a rule, did you step forward to remind him and stop him from making a mistake? Or do nothing to prevent him from making a mistake and then punish him when he does? “I guess the person who voted for me was the latter. When he saw me parking illegally, he did not step forward to stop me. He was secretly glad that this month’s tasks were solved, and he was just waiting for me to leave before issuing a fine. If so, does it defeat the purpose of enacting this violation fine? Or maybe this is just high-sounding rhetoric with only one purpose: traps and pitfalls designed to accomplish revenue generation.

As the main force in urban construction, our construction workers work overtime all day long. We faced the scorching sun in summer, the cold wind and snow in winter, the wind, rain, snow and sun, regardless of the hardships. With our hard-working hands, we have built high-rise buildings one after another, rewriting the city’s skyline all the time. Should there be some care and inclination in policies and regulations to make some adjustments to roadside parking, rather than remaining unchanged? After all, construction period is limited, and disruption to residents is limited but the architecture that stands up is eternal. The current rules are: If you park before 7:00 am, you will be fined. However, most construction sites start work at 7:00 am. How do they park before going to work? The people who set these regulations are not from the construction industry. They only know how to do things behind closed doors, but they don’t understand the reason behind it. Can the parking time be advanced to 6:00 in the morning? This can be convenient for the vast majority of construction site workers.

As for my ticket, I really don’t know that I can’t just park like this. Everyone around me has been doing this for over half a year. Moreover, he forced it on me in such a way that I felt like there was something stuck in my throat. I couldn’t accept it, so I had to fight to the end. Not just for myself, but for everyone, everyone in this situation. Maybe my struggle ended in failure, but at least I fought for it. It’s just that I’m alone and don’t have enough strength. This doesn’t mean I did anything wrong. On the contrary, if everyone does not accept the status quo and has the courage to fight for their due rights, then in the end any force will bow to justice. That’s what I think, and that’s what I’ll do. I hope friends who hold the same views will follow me, support me, like me, and forward me. I will also update the situation in time. Let us wait and see.
