The road is 10.6km (6.58 miles) long, running north-south from Kallikratis (a small mountainous village in the Sfakia municipality, southwest Crete) to Kapsodasos (situated off the beaten tourist path, made up of four widely separated neighborhoods that are scattered on a small plateau).
