The CPKC Holiday Train will pass through many Ontario communities this week.
See our guide to when and where you can see the CPKC Holiday Train as it rolls through Ontario. This week, stops are in Toronto, Vaughan, Oshawa, Belleville, Bowmanville, Coburg, Smiths Falls, Perth, Merrickville, Parry Sound and more.
You can start making plans to get out and enjoy what has become a highly anticipated holiday tradition in Ontario.
The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) 2025 Holiday started rolling on Nov. 19, with stops in the U.S. and Canada until Dec. 20.
The holiday train stops in Toronto, Vaughan, Oshawa, Belleville, Bowmanville, Cobourg, Smiths Falls, Perth, Merrickville, Springwater, MacTier, Parry Sound and more this week — with more Ontario destinations to follow.
What is the CPKC Holiday Train?
Since 1999, the train has offered free concerts, raised money and collected donations for local food banks. At each stop, CPKC donates to the local food banks and also encourages concert attendees to pitch in, too.
Since the inaugural run, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and collected about 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.
“Every year, our railroaders take great pride in bringing the Holiday Train across our network, this year reaching even more communities for the first time,” said Keith Creel, CPKC president and CEO.
“We are thrilled to send this beautiful train filled with lights and music to spread the joy of the season and proud to support the giving spirit of the holidays assisting people experiencing food insecurity. It’s incredible to see communities come together every year to celebrate the holidays while supporting local food banks.”
Who’s performing on the CPKC Holiday Train stage in 2025?
This year’s performers include the Barenaked Ladies, Smash Mouth, Tyler Shaw, Brittany Kennell, Jade Eagleson, JJ Wilde, American Authors, Pynk Beard, Teigen Gayse, Lanco, Tiera Kennedy and Dylan Marlowe.
Smash Mouth, JJ Wilde, Jade Eagleson and Teigen Gayse are playing in Ontario.
As part of the Holiday Train’s travels, 196 live music shows will be played in six Canadian provinces and 13 U.S. states.
CPKC actually has two Holiday Trains to maximize how many stops it can make. The trains visit nearly 200 communities in about a month.
New Ontario stop this year
Cobourg is a new stop in Ontario this year. The Brighton stop has been removed from the list of stops.
“As you can appreciate, every year we receive numerous requests from communities across our network for the Holiday Train,” a CPKC spokesperson said. “While we aim to visit as many as we can, the route changes each year to accommodate as many locations as possible.”
Where and when will the holiday train stop on Nov. 28, 29 and 30?
